Design and develop specialized tooling, fixtures, and test equipment to support component repair and overhaul operations.
Evaluate OEM tooling requirements and identify equivalent or alternative tooling solutions where applicable.
Ensure all tooling complies with applicable aviation regulations (e.g., Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations such as 14 CFR Part 145) and customer requirements.
Create and maintain detailed engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical documentation.
Support tooling validation, qualification, and calibration processes.
Coordinate tooling procurement, including vendor selection, cost analysis, and lead time management.
Work closely with technicians, inspectors, and engineering teams to improve tooling effectiveness and reduce turnaround time (TAT).
Troubleshoot tooling-related issues on the shop floor and implement corrective actions.
Develop and maintain a tooling control program, including tracking, inspection intervals, and serviceability status.
Assist in audits and ensure tooling records meet regulatory and quality system requirements.
Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and increased efficiency through tooling innovation.
Provide technical support during new product introductions and repair capability expansions.
